According to the surveys conducted in US, such casino games as roulette and blackjack still lie mostly in the domain of men, though it has been recorded that women make up as much as 55 percent of the ‘soft-gaming’ market in the UK.
Gavin Blowman, a co-owner of online gaming website Jackpotty.com, reported that more women are joining the ranks of online gamblers and more of them take part in skill-based games such as roulette and blackjack. He thinks that this trend was prompted by the popular TV shows like ‘I’m a Celebrity’, stirring up female audience to invade what was once solely a male market.
