Uproar occurred in Kansas city, with faulty charges pressed against a man who allegedly stole casino chips from another person. An incident, which took place in April 2003, involved Tracey Blue, who according to the testimony, went with a friend to the casino where they both lingered at the craps tables and slot machines. A woman playing at the same time roulette filed a complaint about missing chips of hers worth $85 to $90 which made her depart from the game prematurely.
The casino video surveillance revealed that indeed there was a figure of someone with dimmed face taking a pile of chips by stealth. An officer from the Missouri Gaming Control reasoned that Blue, who was near the roulette wheel just taking a leave with a friend of his, matched the anonymous figure displayed on the video cameras.
Blue was then approached by the officer B.L. Sweiger at the exit, saying he’s been spotted taking the chips. Despite Blue’s denial he was seized and brought back to the roulette table for the dealer to identify him. The dealer has identified him as a man taking the chips. A more minute review of the surveillance tape, however, featured Blue being far away from the roulette table at the time of the alleged incident.
Blue Tracey was granted $250,000 from Harah’s North Kansas City Casino, as a compensation award.
