The Thai police force recently decided to take severe measures against illegal casinos in the center of Bangkok (Tapoon district). Police traveling by helicopter, car and by foot raided the roulette casinos and arrested 353 men and women involved. The detained people will be prosecuted, and might face fines and prison sentences if they're found guilty.
Head of the crime suppression department, Maj. Gen Vinai Thongsong, said that many roulette tables, baccarat tables and slot machines were confiscated by the police.
