In a general assembly session, Delaware's state legislators swarmed with various proposals to expand gambling, in order to legalize the table games, such as roulette in Delaware.
This proposition came to save the gambling industry in Delaware from Pennsylvania and Maryland's upcoming slots ventures. Delaware profits approximately $200 million per year from already existing slots gambling, which is about 8% of the total budget of the state.
According to the proposed Bill 174, games such as roulette, dice and card games, will be legalized.
Although senate members aren't very enthusiastic about the idea, a growing concern over potential competition in the industry has made them to reconsider their hesitation regarding the bill.
Since gambling is limited by the constitution of Delaware, this bill, if passed, will actually become an amendment to the state constitution.
