There is more to gambling facilities than just gambling. The reports of American Gaming Association have shown that with roulette and blackjack at hand in 2002 about 51 million people, over 21 gambled in a casino at least once. From 2001 to 2002 the industry has increased its revenues by 3% and these numbers do not account for the illegitimate gamblers.
Back in the 60th, the first casino operators have realized that it wouldn’t be satisfactory to offer solely the main course, roulette and blackjack games, which did and still do, to some extent, constitute the main revenue source. To garnish the catering of these games, many casino mangers have come to offer additional incentives, to create a steady flow of customers. Drinks on the house, plush interiors and floor shows are just a handful of such casino amenities. This coup resulted in today’s Vegas gambling becoming the most popular family outlet.
Normally, roulette and blackjack games draw in two types of gamblers, the well rigged amateur and the high roller pro. When the last one can be set aside as he mainly follows the money, the first is of much greater interest to the avid casino proprietors. This is the customer that can be well manipulated and capitalized on when besieged with luxuries dwellings, gourmet dishes, room service and ingenious entertaining articles. He has money and he wants everything superb and if he is satisfied, he is likely to spread the rumor and bring along his family and friends.
