How can a roulette player in Los Angeles help save cancer patients around the world? It’s actually quite simple. On October first, the Los Angeles Chapter of Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF-LA) will be hosting a Monte Carlo Night. With music by Soul Traffic, dancing, roulette, and more, the ICRF-LA hopes to attract young professionals to contribute to a worthy cause.
The Israel Cancer Research Fund might seem like a rather distant cause for a Los Angeles fund-raiser, but Israel’s cancer research is cutting-edge and ranges from advances in assessing genetic risk factors to new drug therapies. In 2004, two researchers funded by ICRF won the Nobel Prize in sciences. According to public statements by William L. Robbins, Chairman of the Board of ICRF-LA, the decision to donate to ICRF is a decision devoid of religious, ethnic, or political considerations. It is purely a humanitarian decision, and in the end, the lives saved around the world are the main concern.
If you want to spin the roulette wheel to help cure cancer, the Monte Carlo Night will be held at the Petersen Automotive Museum on October 1. More information is available at www.icrfvisions.com.
