The Eastern Illinois University Board and the Eastern Parents Club sponsored a Vegas night last Friday as part of the Family Weekend activities. The event was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.
The ballroom was transformed into a casino for the duration of four hours. Each player was given $300 worth of fake chips at the entrance, and was then offered the various table games, among which was roulette.
Once roulette and other games were over, people were told to cash their chips for raffle tickets, which were used in drawings for the prizes. The prizes included DVD players, stereos, a grill and other things.
Satisfied visitors have reported that an Elvis impersonator was even present. |
