888 Holdings, the online casino and poker group reported an increase in the number of its regular players at its tables almost doubled in number in the last 12 months. Total gaming revenues for games such as blackjack and roulette went up 56 per cent in the third quarter, posting £39.5 million.
The number of regular gamblers with 888 increased to 316,553 between July and September. This improvement can be seen as an outcome of the increasing interest in poker. Revenues from blackjack and roulette were nearly flat in the second and third quarters of 2005, but then boosted up in the third quarter.
888 revenues have increased 18% since 2004. Share prices fell, and the company's stock has lost about 6 per cent of its value since the company floated on the London Stock Exchange in September.
