City officials in Vienna, Virginia, held a public hearing last Wednesday to debate the issue of licensing new video lottery machines and allowing table games such as roulette. In addition, restrictions on the location of video lottery and gaming parlors were discussed as well. This was not the first time that the issue was debated in the state; the state legislature previously discussed allowing roulette games and more.
According to planning commission president Bob Marshall, many people in the northern part of the city would like to turn the existing lottery parlors into casinos. He is strongly against the idea, and believes that location restrictions would limit the spread of casino games, such as roulette, should they be legalized. |
