There has been much talk regarding Tuesday's date – 6.6.06 – over the past decades. In the Western culture, the number 666 is associated with many superstitions and is commonly linked to the devil. Some religious group have come to believe that it marks the day of the Apocalypse. The legend comes from the Book of Revelation (13:18), in the New Testament: "This calls for wisdom: let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty-six." According to some hermeneutic interpretations, the Beast referred to in the passage is the Antichrist.
Oddly enough, 666 is the sum of all numbers featured on a traditional roulette wheel. Roulette wheels feature numbers running from 1 to 36. Some say that this fact is no mere coincidence. According to an ancient tale, Frenchman François Blanc, the creator of the roulette wheel, made a pact with the Devil seeking to obtain the secrets of the roulette game. Will gamblers spinning the roulette wheel tomorrow be blessed with the Devil's luck?
