It was recently reported that Iowa's new Riverside casino-hotel facility would open its doors to the public sooner than initially scheduled. Since the site's construction was completed earlier than expected, casino officials decided to hold the grand opening ceremony on August 31st, instead of the original September 10th date.
According to marketing director Cheryl Good, the gaming venue will recruit 250 dealers, including trainees enrolled in the casino's dealer school. The gaming company opened a dealer academy in May, where aspiring croupiers learned the ins and outs of casino games, such as roulette, craps, blackjack and poker.
The $147 million Riverside Casino & Golf Resort will boast a 58,000-square-feet gaming space with as many as 14 poker tables, making it Iowa's second largest poker room in the state. Gamblers will also enjoy 34 blackjack tables, two roulette wheels and four craps tables.
