The Venetian Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, will soon host a field experiment for newly-developed mobile gambling machines offering roulette and other casino games such as blackjack, slots and poker. The gaming devices will enable hotel and casino guests to play poolside or in the facility's nightclub, without physically being present in the gambling areas.
Using the new devices, fans of roulette and other table games would be able to play from almost anywhere in the casino-hotel complex, except parking lots and hotel rooms. Cantor Gaming, a New York-based online casino operator which already offers mobile gaming machines, will provide the casino with the gambling-enabled PDAs.
Officials from other prominent casinos on the Vegas Strip were reported as saying that they would follow the trial closely. Some of them reportedly questioned the Venetian's ability to prevent underage guests from using such devices.
