Two blogs which have been running since the UIGEA came into law have updated again to provide help to US gamblers.
It is now nearly exactly one year since Sen Bill Frist introduced the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act which had appeared to have ruined online gambling for Americans.
However, loopholes in the law have made it possible for US based gamblers to still use certain sites and an information network staffed by eager anti-ban activists has kept Americans informed on how to still gamble online legally.
Two blogs which have been an important part of the network are located at “united states of poker” and at uscasinos.blogspot. These blogs have been running as long as the UIGEA has been in place and have proved a vital resource in helping Americans continue one of their favorite pastimes.
Now both blogs have had their first update for 2 months to keep players informed about the ever changing market. Added to the already pretty large list are 3 new casinos which are accepting US players and two new poker sites which are open for US business. As well as this the site has added another payment processor which players can use to fund their accounts. Most sites now require using one of these payment processors in order to get around the ban, which prohibits US based financial institutions from conducting business with a gambling site. Using a payment processor allows the player and site to bypass this law and use the casino or poker room legally.
The list of sites which still accept US players is now almost complete and has links to each site still accepting US players, plus details of how to play there legally. The line up is surprising and there are some very big companies in there, which is a guarantee that depositors money will be safe.
Site owner Dave Chance feels that the information network created by blogs like his are essential to show the US lawmakers that a large percentage of the population wants to continue gambling online and that further efforts to outlaw it would be a terrible idea.
He says " I set the blog as I found out I could still gamble online but found it hard to find out exactly how. When I did, I put the info on a blog and it got a silly amount of hits in a week. Nearly one year on and there are still plenty of Americans who are unsure of the law, and how and where they can gamble. Hopefully my blogs, and others like it can help a little."
Hopefully one day blogs like this will not be needed and it will be legal to deposit your money in any way you see fit, but until then blogs like Dave's are there for anyone who needs help.
