More Roulette Bets

There are two major kinds of roulette bets on the roulette table; inside bets and outside bets. The most significant difference between the inside and outside bets is the issue of table minimums. While each outside bet must be equal to the table minimum, the inside bets must reach a combined total of the table minimum. For example, on a table with a $10 minimum, you can place 2 $5 bets on the inside, but to place any outside bet, you'll have to make that bet at least $10.
There are a variety of types of inside bets, and you'll probably be a bit confused by them, especially if you're a novice roulette player. Don't worry, though. On Roulette2002.com, you'll learn all you need to about inside bets. If you're confused about how to play roulette, you'll want to check the guide to getting started. If you're new to roulette, you should probably also read a review of basic roulette bets before you go on to the complexities of inside betting.
The first, and simplest, kind of inside bet is the 'straight up' bet. You put your chips on a single number, and if the ball lands on that number, you'll get paid back at a rate of 35 to 1. This is an especially good bet if you're psychic and are sure of which number will come up.
If you want to bet on two numbers at the same time, you can do it in two different ways. You can simply put a chip on each number, or you can put a chip on the line between two numbers, called a 'split' bet. You can only make a split bet if the two numbers are adjacent. Split bets pay back at a rate of 17 to 1, which is less than half of 35 to 1. If you want to bet two chips, it's better to bet one on each number. The only reason to make a split bet is because you'll get more bets in with less money. (17 X 2 = 34)
If you want to bet on three numbers in a row, you can place a 'street bet,' which will enable you to place all three numbers in the row at the same time. Again, the odds drop a bit when you do this, giving the house a better edge. Street bets pay off 11 to 1. (11 X 3 = 33)
If you want to bet on four numbers at a time, you can bet on a corner which intersects all four of them. This is known as a 'corner' bet, and pays at 8 to 1, which means that the roulette odds are again dropped to be better for the casino. (8 X 4 = 32)
The worst bet of all is the 'five number' bet. You can bet on 00, 0, 1, 2, and 3 at the same time. The payoff is 6 to 1, meaning it gives you the worst payout rate of all the roulette bets. (6 X 5 = 30)
